How to time manage a blog with a full time job

I always get questions on how I manage to run a blog, work part-time and still have a social life. It can get really exhausting after a while but if you look after yourself and stay on top of your work then you will be fine.

I'm lucky enough to work part-time and have flexible hours which makes it easier for me but I know not everyone has this option to be able to have flexible hours. Over the last couple of weeks/months, I have to manage to find the perfect way to work on my blog and still have time for myself and socialise.

Schedule
Scheduling is really important in staying above your work and helping you stay organised. Set days to work on what you need to work on. I try my best to post 3 blog post a week if I can, the other days when I'm not working on my blog I work on my Pinterest account which helps me stay above my work. Sundays are the days I focus on the post I create for the following week, I look up blog post ideas and I draft about 4-6 which will keep me occupied for the following week.

Have one day that you just focus on your blog
I have every Wednesdays off my job which I focus on my blog I try and work on at least 2 blog post and my Pinterest. If you don't have any days off during the week, then set aside an hour or two every night during the week or keep one day off the weekend to work on your blog. If its a passion of yours then you will make time for your blog.

Take time off for yourself
When you have found a routine that suits you always take a day off every now and then to rest. If you're constantly working and trying to find time for everything else then you will burn out pretty quickly and you won't enjoy it as much. Taking time off will allow you to reset your body with a clear mine for fresh content.

Have a goal
having a goal is also another great tip to keep everything updated if you have a goal that will make you work harder on your blog and on your dreams. Write down what you would like to achieve with your blog and how you can do it, it will make you want to work harder. It's like a business plan, every business has a plan.

Stay consistent
Staying consistent is the number one rule in blogging, if you constantly take time off and not working then you will fall behind which will make you lazy and not want to work on your blog. If your working on your blog 1-2 hours a day like i said above then you will always be productive and get work done and never fall behind.

Join Facebook groups
I know this isn't a tip on how to time manage but I've joined a lot of blogging facebook groups recently and they help so much if you have any questions post it in there and you will get answers all the time. It's a great way to connect with other bloggers.

staying organised is the best way to run a blog instead of keeping everything in your head buy a book and write it all down so when you have writer's block you have something to look back on.
When I work on blog post I try and go back and forth between each post, I allow at least 1-2 hours on each blog post which might not seem a lot but if you think about it this way you have 6 blog post on draft and your spending 1-2 hours on each then all together your spending 12 hours on your writing and in those 12 hours you can get a lot done. You can obviously spend more but this is what suits me and my routine.

I know this might sound overwhelming but if you have a passion for something and you want to create a blog then do it, whats the worst thing that could happen? yeah, you might not succeed but at least you gave yourself a chance and didn't give up. If you work hard enough then anything could happen.

I hope this blog post helps you with your dream and makes you one step closer to what you're working for.
